Love Yourself

“We try to save the world,
To love others,
To forgive them.
We think it’s others that we need to do something to,
Something for.
The irony is,
It’s all a path that ultimately brings us
To the one who needs it the mosts—
Ourselves”. [1]

I thought
Reading those words,
So profound.

I ran downstairs to get a pencil
To underline it,
Stuck a post-it
To mark the page,
So I could find it again.

I folded the page down
Even though I hate creasing books.
